R44 Trial flight

Fly a helicopter yourself!

During an introductory flight, you’ll take the controls as the pilot—of course, accompanied and supervised by an experienced flight instructor. The flight instructor will gradually give you more control over the helicopter. You can try out various flight maneuvers, such as landings and hovering, on your own. Coordinating all the controls is a major challenge. Can you keep the helicopter hovering in place? Give it a try—an introductory flight is an intense and unforgettable experience.

Take on the challenge!

Note: A maximum of 1 accompanying person may fly along.

Helicopter

ROBINSON R44 Raven II

Like the smaller R22, it is powered by a Lycoming piston engine and offers comfortable seating for four people, with each of the three passengers having a window seat. For flights with just a few passengers, such as wedding flights, it is the ideal solution at an unrivaled price. At Mountainflyers, the helicopter is mainly used for sightseeing flights of all kinds and for pilot training. For many new private pilots, it is the first "big" helicopter and allows them to carry passengers on charter flights and share the fascination of flying with friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What must be observed after landing?

After landing, the pilot stops the helicopter's engine and lets the rotor spin out. Please wait strapped into the helicopter until the pilot gets out and opens the doors for you or instructs you to open the doors yourself. Your pilot will then accompany you back to our office.

How does check-in work?

After you have paid or handed in your voucher at our office, your pilot will meet you. He will accompany you to the helicopter. You are welcome to take photos. You may also bring accompanying persons with you to photograph or film you in front of the helicopter and during take-off. Please follow the instructions of the staff, as you will be within the airport security zone during this time. Smoking in the hangar and the outdoor area with terrace is strictly prohibited.

Your pilot will inform you about the most important rules of conduct around the helicopter and about the functions of the doors, seat belts and headsets. You will then take your seat in the helicopter so that the flight can begin.

What do I need to consider in terms of clothing?

In principle, the outside temperature can be used as a guide. Our helicopters are of course heated. In addition, each helicopter has enough storage space to take a jacket with you if necessary. We recommend closed shoes.

For flights with glacier landings, mountain or hiking boots and warm, windproof clothing are required.

Do you fly all year round, even in winter?

Yes, we operate all year round. Every season has its own special charm. You can choose your favorite season for the flight.

What is important during the flight?

During the sightseeing flight, you can talk to the pilot via your headset. Make sure that your microphone is positioned close to your mouth. On exclusive sightseeing flights, the route can be adapted according to your wishes, provided this is within the time frame. Photos may of course be taken during the flight.

Unlike an airplane, a helicopter can land almost anywhere. Many sightseeing flights include a stopover in the mountains or at a restaurant. A stopover is always possible on exclusive sightseeing flights lasting 45 minutes or more.

Further information can be found in our passenger briefing.
