Flight around the Chasseral

Helicopter flight to the Chasseral and Lake Biel

Enjoy the wonderful view of the Jura chain with the two most famous Jura peaks - Weissenstein and Chasseral. The sightseeing flight takes you past Lake Biel, one of the three large lakes on the edge of the Jura.

It is possible to reserve individual seats on selected sightseeing flights. You fly in a group put together by us. The type of helicopter will be allocated depending on the number of passengers and the flight route. The flights take place on Saturdays from Grenchen and on Sundays from Belp. The basic requirement for individual seat flights is, in addition to ideal flying weather, that all the seats in the helicopter are occupied.

If you book a helicopter exclusively for yourself, you determine the date, time and route of the helicopter flight. You can choose between one of our standard offers or an individually arranged sightseeing flight - there are virtually no limits to your wishes. We fly for you 365 days a year.

Helicopter

ROBINSON R44 Raven II

Like the smaller R22, it is powered by a Lycoming piston engine and offers comfortable seating for four people, with each of the three passengers having a window seat. For flights with just a few passengers, such as wedding flights, it is the ideal solution at an unrivaled price. At Mountainflyers, the helicopter is mainly used for sightseeing flights of all kinds and for pilot training. For many new private pilots, it is the first "big" helicopter and allows them to carry passengers on charter flights and share the fascination of flying with friends and family.

Frequently asked questions

How does a helicopter actually work?

The helicopter is a complex aircraft. The lift force that allows the helicopter to rise into the air is generated by the horizontally rotating rotor blades, which are moved by an engine. The helicopter uses the rotor to generate lift that makes it fly upwards.

How long is the delivery time for vouchers?

You can print our vouchers immediately after ordering (payment by invoice or online by card). There is therefore no delivery time. You don't want to or can't print the voucher? Contact us - we will send you the voucher by A Mail so that it arrives the following day.

What is important during the flight?

During the sightseeing flight, you can talk to the pilot via your headset. Make sure that your microphone is positioned close to your mouth. On exclusive sightseeing flights, the route can be adapted according to your wishes, provided this is within the time frame. Photos may of course be taken during the flight.

Unlike an airplane, a helicopter can land almost anywhere. Many sightseeing flights include a stopover in the mountains or at a restaurant. A stopover is always possible on exclusive sightseeing flights lasting 45 minutes or more.

Further information can be found in our passenger briefing.

Under what conditions do group flights take place?

The following conditions must be met for the group flights (from Grenchen on Saturdays and from Belp on Sundays) to take place:

  • all seats in the helicopter are occupied and paid for
  • the meteorological conditions are right

If not all helicopter seats are occupied, the flight will be postponed to a subsequent weekend (Saturday or Sunday) of your choice.

Is there a weight limit for helicopter flights?

Yes, there is a maximum take-off weight for each helicopter type, which must not be exceeded. Factors such as the number of passengers, fuel quantity, air temperature, performance and flight time etc. must be taken into account. The pilot is legally obliged to draw up a so-called "load manifest" before the flight. This includes the individual weights of all passengers. When making a reservation for a helicopter flight, we therefore ask for the weights of the passengers and reserve the right to refer to a correspondingly larger and more powerful helicopter if the maximum take-off weight is exceeded. For calculations of specific constellations, please contact us directly.

For the Robinson R22 (only used for trial flights and training) a limit of 95 kg per person applies.
