Ground courses
Mountainflyers offers not only the practical part of type ratings, but also the theoretical part - the so-called basic courses.
The basic course is an obligatory part of a PPL(H) basic training or a retraining for a new helicopter type. The basis for this course is the manufacturer's manual (Pilot Operating Handbook). The following topics will be covered in class within approx. 10 to 50 hours - depending on the complexity of the system:
- General
- Limitations
- Emergency procedures
- Standard procedures
- Performance
- Weight & balance
- System description
Another important part of the basic course is the pre-flight check on the helicopter, which every pilot has to do before the flight.
