Mountainflyers rents helicopters to licensed helicopter pilots. The following types of helicopters are available for charter:

• Robinson R22 Beta II
• Robinson R44 Raven II
• Robinson R66 Turbine
• Airbus Helicopters EC120
• Airbus Helicopters AS350 B2

Requirements for chartering / renting the helicopter of Mountainflyers are a valid pilot license, a current medical, a rating for the respective type of helicopter and a check flight with a mountain flyer instructor.

The required flying experience varies depending on the type of helicopter.

Leonardo AW109SP GrandNew

The AW109SP GrandNew is a twin-engine helicopter made by the Italian manufacturer Leonardo (formerly Agusta Westland). The helicopter offers maximum safety through the latest technology and transports up to six passengers in the spacious and quiet cabin. Wide-opening sliding doors and electrically extendable steps provide easy access. The extended luggage compartment offers plenty of room for personal luggage. The glass cockpit provides the pilots with an excellent view and an ergonomic workplace.

AIRBUS HELICOPTERS H125 

The "squirrel" family was created in the 70s by the French manufacturer Aerospatiale (later Eurocopter, now Airbus Helicopters) and still enjoys great popularity today. The helicopters are used worldwide for a variety of missions and show their strengths in difficult tasks in the high mountains. To date, the "squirrel" is the only helicopter ever to land on the summit of Mount Everest. The variant H125 (formerly AS350 B3e) is the newest and strongest of the model series. At Mountainflyers, the helicopter, which offers space for five passengers next to the pilot, is used for scenic and taxi flights, film flights and pilot training.

Airbus Helicopters AS350 B2

The "Ecureuil" family was created in the 70s by the French manufacturer Aerospatiale (later Eurocopter, now Airbus Helicopters) and enjoys great popularity today. The helicopters are used worldwide for a variety of missions and show their strengths, especially in difficult tasks in the high mountains. To date, the "Ecureuil" is the only helicopter ever to land on the summit of Mount Everest. The variant AS350 B2 is less powerful than the variant H125, but offers a nearly unbeatable price / performance ratio, which makes it very interesting for passenger transport and filming flights. At Mountainflyers, the helicopter, which offers space for five passengers next to the pilot, is used for sightseeing and and taxi flights, filming flights and pilot training.

ROBINSON R66 TURBINE

The turbine helicopter from Robinson offers great performance at a low price. Performance and speed are close to the level of Airbus Helicopters' Ecureuil family. The R66 has a total of five seats and offers excellent all-round visibility, as well as a large luggage compartment. The Robinson R66 is the most cost-effective turbine helicopter on the market and is therefore very popular with future professional pilots in order to acquire the required turbine experience. At Mountainflyers the helicopter is used for sightseeing and taxi flights and for pilot training.

ROBINSON R44 RAVEN II

The four-seat Robinson R44 has been the world's best-selling helicopter every year since 1999 and is powered by a Lycoming piston engine. It is the ideal helicopter for exclusive sightseeing flights with few passengers, such as wedding flights. Each passenger has a window seat and benefits from an unrivaled low price. At Mountainflyers the helicopter is used for sightseeing and taxi flights, film flights and for pilot training.

ROBINSON R22 BETA II

The two-seater helicopter with a Lycoming piston engine is ideal for basic aviation training and is the best-selling training helicopter in the world. The rotor system of the R22 has a low mass and the helicopter is controlled directly by rods without hydraulic support. Its control system is very sensitive and requires a steady hand to avoid overcorrections. Pilots who master the R22 have no difficulty flying larger helicopters. At Mountainflyers, this helicopter is used for trial flights ("fly yourself") and for pilot training.

Airbus Helicopters EC120 B

The Airbus Helicopters EC120 B is a light turbine helicopter. The spacious cabin has five seats (1 pilot and 4 passengers). The helicopter is operated by Heli-West AG from Grenchen Airport on behalf of Mountainflyers and is available for passenger flights and pilot training.

The Airbus Helicopters H130 (formerly EC130 B4 / EC130 T2) is a further development of the "Squirrel" series. It is based on the technology of the H125 (formerly AS350 B3e), but has a significantly larger cell and a Fenestron tail rotor. The Fenestron makes the H130 one of the quietest helicopters on the market. The large and air-conditioned cabin offers one pilot and six passengers generous space and excellent all-round visibility.
